The executable file client.exe appears to be associated with a number of processes, but the most commonly mentioned process is what is generally known as DigiGuide Loader. This is included in the software that installs a program called DigiGuide. The software provides users with updated TV and radio show schedules for the United Kingdom and Ireland. The software apparently displays TV schedules of more than five hundred channels. The file is regularly updated so the user can always be up-to-date with the latest show schedules, including changes in time slots and the addition of new shows. In a word, the software provides users with a digital version of the usual print and paper TV guide. The software is published by GipsyMedia Limited. The file has a known size of 557.05 KB for version 8.4. Process file location on disk is C:\Program Files\DigiGuide TV Guide\client.exe. The file is also associated with Carbon Copy Agent from the software Altiris Carbon Copy Solution and Systemwalker Live Help from the software by Fujitsu Limited.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. client.exe. is used by DigiGuide Loader, If you shut down client.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop client.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is DigiGuide Loader, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as DigiGuide Loader, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
