Many user reports state that the cfgmgr52.dll file is a malicious program classified by their system security tools as a variant of the Win32/BookedSpace application, which is a family of obtrusive adware components, BHOs (Browser Helper Objects), Web browser hijackers and homepage loggers. The Win32/BookedSpace software is known to infect Windows-based systems, and the cfgmgr52.dll file is said to be capable of secretly retrieving Internet surfing information and private user details from the default Web browser of the infected system, in order to display pop-up advertisements of products, service offers and discount deals that are related to the user's frequently visited websites, bookmarked Web pages and search engine queries. The same users claim that the cfgmgr52.dll file is capable of exploiting unprotected TCP/IP network ports of the infected Windows-based system, in order to transmit the data it has collected from the infected system and its default Web browser to predesignated remote servers that are managed by the authors of the cfgmgr52.dll file. These remote servers are in turn configured to process these uploaded details, in order to send back relevant pop-up ads that are displayed via new Web browser windows while the user of the infected system is browsing the Internet.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. cfgmgr52.dll. is used by Win32/BookedSpace Adware, If you shut down cfgmgr52.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop cfgmgr52.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Win32/BookedSpace Adware, from your system.
