What is  askservice.exe

The askservice.exe file refers to ASKService, which is a part of the program Ask Toolbar, also called as Vuze Toolbar or ZoneAlarm Spy Blocker Toolbar, produced by Ask.com. Like what its name suggests, Ask Toolbar is a type of browser plug-in and add-on, which enables a user to easily search the Internet through the in-built Ask.com search engine, when using Internet Explorer of at least version 6, or Mozilla Firefox browser, and through 32-bit or 64-bit versions of Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7. This toolbar allows a user to search quickly by typing keywords in the search box. Because askservice.exe is a component, it is essential to keep it running, so the function of the application Ask Toolbar is enabled. Otherwise, it won’t let a user search what he or she needs to find on the web, if the file askservice.exe is deleted, stopped or corrupted. It is possible that the absence of this file can cause the software that houses it to become disabled too.
