為什麼Windows XP是一個壞主意Why Windows XP is a Bad Idea

Five REasons Not to Use Windows XP

one reason TO use XP, that old game you’ve been enjoying for donkeys years? chances are it won’t run on later versions of windows and if it does it will be such a PITA to install you’ll wish you never tried.

  • Dex

    Can’t agree further.
Point 3 and 4: there are way more 32 bits and non touch-screen machine (on Windows platform) than Wins XP itself.
Point 5 and its last sentence: I just don’t know where to begin… To the author, all I can say is… sorry, wrong job. You should be in the circus.

ReviverSoft, continue to dream about getting decent ratings from WOT with trash like this.

  • Thank you for taking the time to comment on our blog. We love getting feedback. Can you elaborate a little more about why you don’t like the article?

  • Hi Dex,

Thanks for commenting and it is great to get an argument going. In my opinion point 1 in the article is enough of a reason to switch in its own right.
Points 3 and 4 that you mention are definitely less strong points about why you should stop using Windows XP but they are still reasons that people may consider. There are actually many more reasons I can add (and will add when I add some article revisions latter today due to the popularity of this article).

I don’t appreciate the article being called trash though especially when your comment could have done with a spell check and grammar check itself IMHO.

  • Good point Andy! I would try to find an alternative if you can. The security holes in Windows XP are going to become a big problem this year.

  • Dex

Commenting about viewers’ language mistakes in a reply to a COMPANY blog post can just show how hard and desperate you will resort to in adding points to your lame posts.

“There are actually many more reasons I can add”
Yeah, continue trying hard with your research. It’s no wonder all your software are trash too. It’s tragic that you can only come up with 2 decent points initially with your so-called “many more reasons” you can add. Continue to be the very clown you are, and ReviverSoft will continue to be a joke to the community, as reflected in WoT.

P.S. How ironic that you tell others to do a spell check when you’re incapable of doing it yourself!

  • Hi Dex,

I’m sorry if I have offended you in some way. You are obviously upset with something that we have done.

This article was never written to offend anyone. It was just to make people aware of the risks associated with continuing to use Windows XP. This is a big problem and something most people are not aware of.

This article was not written by me, it was written by another writer at ReviverSoft (Steve) and each individual has their own opinions toward different topics that usually vary. I agree with all points that Steve has listed here but it I had written the article I may have chosen different points.

I’m sorry if there has been something that we have done to have ill feelings toward us and our software. Or intentions here were just to educate people about the risks with continuing to use Windows XP, not to offend people.

How about educating people about the risks about reading and using ReviverSoft’s stuffs?

“for all intents and purposes, it will no longer be safe to use XP after April.”

  • I’m not sure what you are trying to say? The risk of using Windows XP after April will definitely be greater than it is now and will continue to get worse. We aren’t recommending users use our software as a precaution against this, we recommend upgrading to a newer version of Windows.

  • Dex

How about educating people about the risks in reading and using ReviverSoft’s stuffs?

“but for all intents and purposes, it will no longer be safe to use XP after April. ”
Really? For all intents and purposes?
“3.5 GB is limited and will cause you major issues, even if all you do is play Flash games in your browser. Forget about using Photoshop or running any decent non-casual game in the last five years.”
Wow, I think a 10-year-old IT retard also knows this isn’t true.
“If your PC happens to have a touchscreen, or even if the touchpad on your laptop is multitouch capable, forget about getting around Windows XP easily. It was designed when touchscreens barely existed and really won’t work without a mouse and keyboard.”
Really, go and do more research.
“If anything is enough motivation to upgrade, then our amazing free application is it.”
    Joke of the millennium.
“Many PCs currently running XP can handle Windows 7 or Windows 8 with a possible RAM upgrade on the side.”
Please, if your RAM is so low that it can’t handle Wins 7, then your PC drivers must be old enough such that insufficient driver software is developed for Windows 7, and of course MUCH LESS Windows 8.

So these are all the points you agree with huh? Seriously, you are totally no different from a clown like the author then. Just close down the company and re-open as a circus. I guarantee you huge success.

P.S. Twice consecutively, you failed to do spell check.

P.S.S. “You are obviously upset with something that we have done” “if there has been something that we have done to have ill feelings toward us and our software. ”
    Just stop being a retard.

  • Hi Dex,

Sorry you don’t like reading our ‘stuffs’ whatever that is.

Yes I agree with Steve’s points. It should be no surprise that we really like Start Menu Reviver and think that everyone should try it. Excuse our bias towards an application that we spent countless hours working on and released for free.

As for the using a Windows XP computer with only 3.5 GB of RAM, if you want to use Photoshop for anything other than very light editing you will run into performance problems and very slow load times. I have seen some examples of people experiencing better Photoshop performance once upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 8. One of these examples is a little further down in this comment.

Upgrading to Windows 8 from Windows XP can have some significant performance enhancements on older computers. A Microsoft MVP Troy Hunt posted his findings in a blog post below:

    http://www.troyhunt.com/2013/02/operating-system-smackdown-windows-8.html

You are right about some very old hardware not having drivers for Windows 7 and 8 but there are plenty of Windows XP machines that will have drivers available, just depends on the machine and how popular the hardware inside it is.

I guess we could argue all day about this. Ultimately my opinion is that I cannot recommend that people continue to use Windows XP. If you disagree with this then I am fine with that, you are welcome to your own opinion.

  • Dex

You say you agree with all the points, yet you still failed to address everything stated. And even for the things you have mentioned, they continued to be flawed.

“I have seen some examples of people experiencing better Photoshop performance once upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 8. One of these examples is a little further down in this comment.”

“Upgrading to Windows 8 from Windows XP can have some significant performance enhancements on older computers. A Microsoft MVP Troy Hunt posted his findings in a blog post below:”

Really? Open Photoshop file loading time is considered photoshop editing? Do you even know what you’re replying to? And does that article indicate anything that 3.5GB RAM is insufficient? No, it just compare Windows 8 and Windows XP opening loading times both with 1GB of RAM.

“You are right about some very old hardware not having drivers for Windows 7 and 8 but there are plenty of Windows XP machines that will have drivers available, just depends on the machine and how popular the hardware inside it is.”

Really? Almost all Wins XP machines 2005 and earlier will encounter lots of issues with Windows 8. It is not about just being able to run Wins 8 and the time it takes to load an application. I have no idea how someone in the fields of IT could be this dense (actually, I do ^^). Just go do more research.

“I guess we could argue all day about this. Ultimately my opinion is that I cannot recommend that people continue to use Windows XP. If you disagree with this then I am fine with that, you are welcome to your own opinion.”

If you’re incapable of presenting valid arguments, then all the article needs is just this quoted paragraph right above. It seriously doesn’t look any different from now, which is more like a circus.

P.S. ” Excuse our bias towards an application that we spent countless hours working on and released for free.”

I wonder which Windows XP user wants to use this anyways.
Well as already said, close stop the company and re-open as a circus. I guarantee you huge success.

  • OK this has become more of a rant from you than a rational argument Dex (or whatever your real name is). Not really interested in continuing this any further.

  • Dex

Indeed you are just a retard, better stop or you will disgrace yourself and the company further.
But I’ll be here for every of your future article, cause I love entertainment from talented clowns like you ^^

  • Dex

And P.S. where are your article revisions as claimed? Guess you are not capable of any at all ^^
Even retarded 10-year-olds can come up with better articles than this, literally. Simply, tragic.

  • Andesine

Mmmmm lets see. Windows XP which works with all my software and all my peripherals

    or

Win 8.1 which has already trashed one laptop, refuses to talk to apps and equipment and so much more.

Seems like a no brainer to me.

  • You don’t need to necessarily go from Windows XP to Windows 8.1. Windows 7 is a good option also and will have official Microsoft support for quite some time.

Hey moron marky, ain’t you going to tell him to brush up his punctuation knowledge first by adding a period at the end of the sentence before he can comment negatively on your article? xD
    What a clown xD

Oh and again, couldn’t agree with WIN7orLINUX more ^^

  • GmoDAtomic

Number one… ever heard of Anti virus software? :P

  • Yes you should definitely use security software and hopefully this is enough. The good news is that Microsoft today announced that they are going to extend the security support for Windows XP until April 2015.

  • I know many people like me

  • ProtectandAccess

First time when i heard the news i
was also very sad and thought that the decision was bad. But after reading few
blogs including yours I realized why Microsoft has taken this step. Thank you
    for your post.

  • ok we understand XP is no longer supported, but then we still have a problem.

our XP machine failed, we have files backed up onto a westerndigital external drive, which we can no longer access

unless someone has a better idea, we are thinking of making one of our machines a dual win7/xp boot so we can read that drive.

but looking at that procedure it is way above our old heads, can the dual boot thing be simplified or is there some other way for us?

    many thanks in advance
