ProjectWizards Merlin

Developed by a team of programmers and project managers at ProjectWizards GmbH, Merlin set the standard for professional project management software. This Mac OS X software recognizes MPP, MPX, and XML files that were created in Microsoft Project releases from 1998 through 2007. In return, the program exports and writes Windows-compatible XML and MPX files for use with Microsoft Project. Other applications that Merlin imports data from include MindManager, NovaMind, and MS Excel. It synchronizes a project's schedule with an iCal calendar and visualizes the project's progress through Timeline 3D or a Gantt chart application. The software's Net Plan view presents a flow diagram of how individual tasks affect the group's activities. In addition, Merlin is available as an iPhone app and as server-side software. Rather than convert or export files, Merlin supports Applescripts for integration with web services and other applications.
