What is yum.exe
Yahoo! Update Manager or Yahoo! Update uses the file yum.exe. This is located in the windows subfolder of a user’s computer, specifically in C:\Program Files. 50% of instances, Windows 7 and XP operating systems store this file at 231,936 bytes size or 222,208 bytes size in some instances. At other times, it may register 188,416 bytes size or 268,840 bytes size. Users have the option to uninstall this from their computer’s control panel but most likely, this should be kept installed unless it is causing a problem on the computer. This process file does not come pre-installed with the computer. It is installed through downloads of software done by the user. Yahoo! Update, as its name says, is used to update the Yahoo browser, Yahoo! Messenger, Yahoo! Toolbar, and other Yahoo related products on a user’s computer and internet browser. Yahoo! Update is a browser helper.
How can I stop yum.exe and should I?
Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. yum.exe. is used by Yahoo! Update, If you shut down yum.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop yum.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Yahoo! Update, from your system.
