The wmccds.exe file is referred to as Windows Media Connect as its service name, and a component of Microsoft Windows Operating System, which is a popular software product developed by Microsoft Corporation. Windows Media Connect, or WMC, is basically a type of UPnP AV server from later versions of Microsoft’s Windows OS, which include Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7, and is used to share media, as well as stream videos or photos, on a Windows PC to other WMC clients, or more particularly UPnP AV-compatible digital media receiver clients through LAN or local area network. Because it is a part of the Windows operating system, the wmccds.exe file is installed once the software is downloaded on the computer, and is considered to be an essential component.
