Developed by Western Design Center, wddmservice.exe is the process file for WD Drive Manager or Western Digital Drive Manager, a consulting service platform for Western Digital product users, WDC or Western Digital Community. Western Design Center is a company that manufactures and develops microprocessors, microcontrollers, and related devices. In addition to manufacturing smart discrete devices, the company offers designs that can be inserted or embedded inside other chips. WDC also produces simulators, development and evaluation boards, as well as emulators for processors. WDC offers additional functionality to hardware components (sound and graphics card, etc.) and options for configuration and support features for their devices. Wddmservice.exe executes under the Windows system account with extensive privileges in the local computer, which acts as a computer within the network. Wddmservice.exe runs in the background. This task takes care of the hardware in the system. Wddmservice.exe can be found in C:\Program Files\Western Digital\wd smartware\wd drive manager\wddmservice.exe.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. wddmservice.exe. is used by WD Drive Manager, If you shut down wddmservice.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop wddmservice.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is WD Drive Manager, from your system.
