The wasservice.exe file is a command line tool that enables a user to create a service for Java processes like those for WebSphere Application Server (WAS). WAS software functions as a web application server that hosts Java. It is used by the WebSphere software of IBM. Wasservice.exe allows WAS to offer options which are important in gaining fast and flexible Java application server runtime environment. It also enhances the reliability and resiliency of the software. These capabilities allow user to freely respond to changing business conditions thus minimizing the cost of maintaining a business. WAS contains Liberty Profile which brings about a simple yet powerful application server. The profile increases the productivity of the developer and is used by lightweight production server for application workloads. It can minimize the utilization of resources. The profile is designed to be small, easy to use and have fast restart times in order to build web, mobile and OSGi applications.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. wasservice.exe. is used by IBM WebSphere Application Server, If you shut down wasservice.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop wasservice.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is IBM WebSphere Application Server, from your system.
