The vstskmgr.exe process belongs to the McAfee Internet Security suit. This file is coming from McAfee, Inc. - Symantec Time Stamping Services Signer - G3.This EXE file protects the user from Internet-based threats such as malware, spyware, Trojans, worms and other potentially harmful programs that can be accumulated by the computer system. The McAfee Internet Security scan needs to be updated in order to function optimally as it will install new updates to strengthen the protection it provides for the user’s computer system. This program is considered important for the security and stability of running the user’s computer system and must be kept intact and not be terminated. The vstskmgr.exe has the task to clean and quarantine items within your computer system. This process may use massive system resources and may slow down the computer system when running a scan. There are reports that state that McAfee Internet Security is “heavy” on the user due to the resources it takes up whenever it is running.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. vstskmgr.exe. is used by McAfee Internet Security, If you shut down vstskmgr.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop vstskmgr.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is McAfee Internet Security, from your system.
