The vetmsg.exe file is an executable application resource process distributed with other EXE program files, some SYS driver files, certain modular Dynamic Link Library (DLL) files, specific background process items and various associated components that are required by the CA Antivirus program among other software products from Computer Associates International. These applications are Windows programs classified as system security tools that were developed by Computer Associates International with a set of features for monitoring, detecting and protecting Windows-based systems against hacker attacks, data security risks, user privacy threats and system stability issues caused by malicious code, viruses, worms, Trojans and spyware applications among other harmful malware programs. The vetmsg.exe process is specifically deployed as a component of the CA Antivirus Realtime Messaging Service module, which is an applet built into the CA Antivirus application and other CA software products. The vetmsg.exe file is placed in the system upon the installation of the CA Antivirus software and other programs from Computer Associates International, which also means the vetmsg.exe process is integrated into the installer distribution packages of these CA applications.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. vetmsg.exe. is used by CA Antivirus and CA Antivirus Realtime Messaging Service Module, If you shut down vetmsg.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop vetmsg.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is CA Antivirus and CA Antivirus Realtime Messaging Service Module, from your system.
