This application is a Windows program classified as a system optimization and management tool that was developed by TuneUp Corporation with a set of features for tweaking system configurations and implementing registry and system cleanup or maintenance operations upon user request. The tuprogst.exe process is specifically deployed as one of the components of the TuneUp Program Statistics Service module, which is an applet built into the TuneUp Utilities software, starting with version 2009 of this system optimization and maintenance application. The tuprogst.exe file is placed in the system upon the installation and configuration of the TuneUp Utilities software, which also means the tuprogst.exe process is integrated into the installer distribution packages of the TuneUp Utilities system maintenance and optimization program.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. tuprogst.exe. is used by TuneUp Utilities and TuneUp Program Statistics Service Module, If you shut down tuprogst.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop tuprogst.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is TuneUp Utilities and TuneUp Program Statistics Service Module, from your system.
