The file tfswshx.dll is a Browser Helper Object which is more popular known as Drive Letter Access Component or Direct Access Component. Most branded drives like HP, Dell, IBM, Toshiba, and Sony has the tfswshx.dll pre-installed in their system as the custom OEM version. Tfswshx.dll comes with the packet writing application that CD and DVD media require to be able to be used like a floppy disk. The DLL file uses optical disc recording technology and a Universal Disk Format (UDF) file system. Tfswshk.dll does not have to let the optical media be written in one big block like Disc at Once, Track at Once and Session at Once because these cannot usually work with sectors. The DLL file helps users in writing data into CD and DVD drives in small packets rather than in big blocks. Then the users can save the files into the optical media, copy them separately, rename and delete them, as the users may see fit.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. tfswshx.dll. is used by Drive Letter Access, If you shut down tfswshx.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop tfswshx.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Drive Letter Access, from your system.
