What is  sssvr.exe

The sssvr.exe process is a file developed by Sony Corporation for the VAIO Media Music Server. It is part of the VAIO Integrated Server for Sony VAIO laptops and is thus a non-system process. This Windows 32 application may be found in C:\Program Files and is neither visible nor a core system file for Windows. It gains access to the Internet or LAN via ports. Sssvr.exe is a background process and is not necessary for Windows XP/Vista/7 systems. Registry errors related to this file can lead to crashing, inability to start, or freezing of VAIO Utilities. Systems may also malfunction when there are missing components of the file. When found in c:\windows or c:\windows\system32 folder, it is susceptible to malware that mimics its identity; as such, hackers can use it to risk computer security.
