What is  slserv.exe

The slserv.exe file is a Windows process known by the service name User-Level Modem Service, or also called as SmartLinkService, which is actually the name of the software that houses it. Made by Smart Link, the slserv.exe process is a module that is installed with the drivers for modems created by the same company. The main task of this component is to create an icon in the system tray of a computer to provide the status of the modem used, as well as its connectivity. This file process also has the capability to automatically reconnect to the Internet once it is interrupted or lost. If the file is stopped, the user is not able to connect to the web or surf the Internet. Thus, keeping the slserv.exe file running on the computer system, or in the background, must be assured to avoid having web interruption, unless it is intended to disconnect to the Internet.
