The process runme.exe is known as Ksoft's Application Launcher by Ksoft. RunMe is a launcher that supports special effects, animations, and skins with transparency. It allows users to create shortcuts for frequently used programs and place them in a tray where these can be easily accessed. Program launchers like RunMe try to find a more efficient way of running programs than by having the Start menu or having the desktop littered with icons. The approach adopted vary from product to product and ranges from dockable windows to tray icons and keyword typing. The functionality of launchers for Windows includes the capability to open files, documents and folders, and navigate to and search through Web sites. Some launchers provide other features like the animation effects from RunMe, calculations, Web searches, task management, and run multiple commands with custom keywords that are easy to make.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. runme.exe. is used by RunMe, If you shut down runme.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop runme.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is RunMe, from your system.
