The process rtlwake.exe belongs to WG111v2 Configuration Utility that belongs to application Belkins Wireless Network. The Belkins Wireless Network, similar to a Wi-Fi local area networking, uses IEEE802.11a/b/g/n standards to link buildings and people over radio signals as an alternative to using cables. A laptop or a mobile device can establish a wireless connection to an access-point or a wireless enabled router by configuring the device. The process rtlwake.exe is installed from the startup disc provided with the Belkin Wireless router to configure a laptop to access a wireless Belkin router. To establish access to the router, the modem is first disconnected to the power supply, and then the router is connected to the modem. Plug in router and modem to a power supply, and configure by inserting the startup disc to the laptop and follow the installation prompts. Belkins wireless router features a MultiBeam antenna technology that provides users with powerful signal strength and maximum coverage to multiple devices.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. rtlwake.exe. is used by Belkins Wireless Network, If you shut down rtlwake.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop rtlwake.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Belkins Wireless Network, from your system.
