What is rspndr.sys
The rspndr.sys process is a driver file that is referred to as Link-Layer Topology Responder Driver for NDIS, which is a part of the Link-Layer Topology Discovery Responder software, a product developed Microsoft Corporation for Windows PCs. The Link-Layer Topology Discovery Responder or LLTD Responder application is basically a type of kernel driver, which is usually installed in Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7, and is used by the Network Map feature for the purpose of displaying a graphical representation of wireless LAN (WLAN), or a local area network (LAN), as well as other devices on the network, including their connection via LLTD protocol. In case the LLTD Responder has failed to execute, any error is recorded in the Event log of the computer, indicating the rspndr.sys process is unable to load. Moreover, the rspndr.sys file must remain stored on the system and running in the background to ensure Link-Layer Topology Discovery Responder works.
