The process persistance.exe is located in a subfolder of Windows Temp folder or sometimes in a subfolder of C:\Documents and Settings. The application starts upon Windows startup and is related to the process Dekara.A. Both persistance.exe and Dekara.A are classified as backdoor Win32 that allows unauthorized access and control of an affected computer. In general, backdoors are specific trojans, keyloggers, viruses, remote administration tools, and spyware. However, the payload and functions of a backdoor are more complex, so they are grouped into one category.
