The process persistance.exe is located in a subfolder of Windows Temp folder or sometimes in a subfolder of C:\Documents and Settings. The application starts upon Windows startup and is related to the process Dekara.A. Both persistance.exe and Dekara.A are classified as backdoor Win32 that allows unauthorized access and control of an affected computer. In general, backdoors are specific trojans, keyloggers, viruses, remote administration tools, and spyware. However, the payload and functions of a backdoor are more complex, so they are grouped into one category. Backdoors are autonomic malicious programs that do not require installation, as their parts are already integrated in a remote host. Backdoor in software is intended by programmers for diagnostic and troubleshooting purposes. However, these are often discovered and used by hackers to enter into the system. It is one of the most dangerous parasite types since it hides from the user, difficult to detect and completely disable, and can be used to spy on a user, manage files, or control the entire system including any present applications or hardware devices.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. persistance.exe. is used by Dekara.A, If you shut down persistance.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop persistance.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Dekara.A, from your system.
