What is pds.exe
Intel Ping Discovery Service, which is commonly shortened to PDS, is installed through the executable file pds.exe. This is part of Intel’s LANDesk Management Suite 6. The file is the one responsible for the LANDesk program to detect your computer and all its components. In other words, the file enables the core server to communicate with your PC. This file is generally needed if your computer belongs to a network. If you are no longer connected to a network, you may disable the file. This file is also installed to run upon startup, by default. If you belong to a network, it is recommended that you heed the advice of your Network Administrator before you disable it or troubleshoot if you are encountering system issues with the process. The file’s general path is C:\Windows\System 32\cba\pds.exe. Average file sizes are between 24,627 and 32,819 bytes. The file may also be installed by Symantec Antivirus Server or Symantec Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition.
How can I stop pds.exe and should I?
Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. pds.exe. is used by Intel Ping Discovery Service, If you shut down pds.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop pds.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Intel Ping Discovery Service, from your system.
