What is  opagent.exe

The opagent.exe file is the executable process that launches OmniPage, a high-end optical recognition character (OCR) tool also called ScanSoft, after the company name of its developer, ScanSoft, Incorporated. OmniPage converts the images in PDF documents and files into formats that can be usable for other PC applications like Word, Excel, HTML, and Adobe system. OmniPage is a user-preferred appplication for special document presentation projects. When installed in the computer, the character-recognition abilities of OmniPage functions to read a PDF language to identify and capture text and its page layout to transform its format into scripts and/or graphical image that can be written or transferred in MS Office applications. Opagent.exe runs on system startup where it starts functioning and already activated as soon as the user opens the program and uses it. Opagent.exe is a safe file free of harmful content, is easy to use, and takes up minimal hard drive space on the computer.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. opagent.exe. is used by OmniPage Pro, If you shut down opagent.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
