The oninit.exe process is an executable file implemented by the IBM Informix software as among its program files and resource components. The IBM Informix application is a set of relational database management tools that can be deployed in local and remote network computers. The oninit.exe file is specifically implemented into some of the modules that are required by the IBM Informix software to perform its intended operations. This means the IBM Informix software executes the oninit.exe process whenever it needs to implement certain functionalities that are embedded in associated program modules. Upon activation, the oninit.exe process references modular system resources, application-specific modules and calls on other program components and system files in order to carry out the requested operations of the IBM Informix software.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. oninit.exe. is used by IBM Informix, If you shut down oninit.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop oninit.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is IBM Informix, from your system.
