Netware Tray Icon or Novell Tray Icon is the name of the process that is executed when you install the file nwtray.exe. The file is installed by the software that installs Novell Client for Windows. The file displays an icon on the System Tray which provides users with an easy access to the various features of the software. However, this file is not recommended to be enabled on end-users’ computers because they may accidentally click on specific features, modify configurations unintentionally, or delete important applications; all of which may have dire consequences on the network. Therefore, if the file was installed on end-users’ PCs, it is highly recommended that this be disabled to prevent such accidents from happening. The file however, would be most helpful to System Administrators. Keeping it enabled on host computers is the general recommendation. The file can be found in C:\Windows\System 32, with an average size of 28,672 bytes.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. nwtray.exe. is used by Novell Tray Icon, If you shut down nwtray.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop nwtray.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Novell Tray Icon, from your system.
