The executable file naldesk.exe is identified as the launch driver for the software Application Explorer. This software is part of the ZENworks series which is licensed by Novell. The Application Explorer is a virtual desktop suite that allows the user to configure every aspect of the computer including the interface. As part of the Virtual desktop suite, the Application Explorer deals with the configuration of all the applications in the computer system. Upon installation, Application Explorer may be initiated to provide an overview of all the applications, both running and installed. Application Explorer will then offer the user some options on the how the software will react to these applications through its Configuration Policy. This policy will be implemented according to the user's assignments and the assignments are according to folders, groups or individual files. The policies can be modified at any time, allowing the user complete control over the desktop.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. naldesk.exe. is used by ZENworks Application Explorer by Novell, If you shut down naldesk.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop naldesk.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is ZENworks Application Explorer by Novell, from your system.
