FTP Serv-U Daemon or ProtoType (version v2.3.0 build 500) is the term used as the service name of the process msupdate.exe, which is an executable or EXE file type, and is a component of the software product labeled as Serv-U or BeyonD TechNoloGies ProtoType_v2 or Serv-U FTP Server, which is developed by Cat Soft or BeyonD aDvanceD TechNoloGies. During the installation of the program, the msupdate.exe file is downloaded, too, and while being stored on a file folder and registered into the Windows registry, this module runs in the background of the computer system. In addition, the msupdate.exe file is downloadable in certain versions of Microsoft Windows operating systems,which include new or later versions, such as Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000, Windows NT, and Windows ME.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. msupdate.exe. is used by Serv-U or BeyonD TechNoloGies ProtoType_v2 or Serv-U FTP Server, If you shut down msupdate.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop msupdate.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Serv-U or BeyonD TechNoloGies ProtoType_v2 or Serv-U FTP Server, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.
