What is  mcdetect.exe

The mcdetect.exe process is an executable file included in the set of program files and modules that are needed by the McAfee Security Center program, which is an application that is built into certain McAfee system security applications. The McAfee Security Center provides real time notifications of updates and upgrades for the McAfee system security tools that are currently installed in the system. It also provides added support to the McAfee WSC Integration Service module, and the mcdetect.exe process is also a component of this module. The mcdetect.exe file is normally found in the same application folder where the McAfee system security program was installed in the system, which is usually a sub directory under the Program Files directory of the system partition.
