The lxdocoms.exe file is an executable process that is integrated into the Printer Communication System module, which is an applet that is used and referenced by certain Lexmark printing devices and AIO (All-In-One) machines. The Printer Communication System module is used by the firmware components and device driver software resources of these supported Lexmark printer models and AIO machines for implementing communication lines between these bundled utilities and the Windows-based system. These communication lines are used for integrating the embedded functionalities of the associated Lexmark printer or AIO device into the system, in order for these integrated features and operations to be performed by the supported Lexmark printer or AIO device upon user request. The lxdocoms.exe file is distributed via the installer packages of these Lexmark printer and AIO firmware utilities and drivers, alongside other EXE application resources, certain SYS driver files, some modular DLL (Dynamic Link Library) files, specific background process items and various components, and the lxdocoms.exe process together with these resource files and libraries are unloaded unto the system upon the installation of these Lexmark printer and AIO device drivers and firmware packages. The lxdocoms.exe and these associated resources are all embedded with compatibility support for widely used versions of Microsoft Windows.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. lxdocoms.exe. is used by Lexmark Printer Firmware/Driver Software and Lexmark Communication System Module and Printer Communication System Module, If you shut down lxdocoms.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop lxdocoms.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Lexmark Printer Firmware/Driver Software and Lexmark Communication System Module and Printer Communication System Module, from your system.
