The lxcfcoms.exe process is used by the firmware utilities and driver software components of certain Lexmark printer devices as one of the components of the Printer Communication System module, which is a built-in applet of these bundled Lexmark firmware resources and drivers. Windows-based systems where supported Lexmark printers are connected to also use the lxcfcoms.exe process, particularly for implementing the functionalities embedded in the Printer Communication System module, and these features are integrated into system-wide resources that are accessed by these Lexmark firmware components and drivers whenever required to integrate and perform certain functionalities as requested by the user from the associated Lexmark printing machine. Upon the execution of the lxcfcoms.exe process by the system and these Lexmark firmware utilities and driver software components after a relevant user request, the lxcfcoms.exe process calls on other EXE program files and references various SYS driver utilities and DLL resource libraries that are implemented by both the system and these Lexmark firmware utilities and drivers into the Windows-based computer, in order for the associated Lexmark printing device to correctly perform the requested operations of the user.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. lxcfcoms.exe. is used by Lexmark Printer Firmware/Driver Software and Lexmark Communication System Module and Printer Communication System Module, If you shut down lxcfcoms.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop lxcfcoms.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Lexmark Printer Firmware/Driver Software and Lexmark Communication System Module and Printer Communication System Module, from your system.
