The process lxcetime.dll, also described as Time Executable, is a driver component for a Lexmark printer that is automatically loaded when booting the Windows system. The three types of file that make up the printer driver are the configuration or printer interface file, the data file, and the printer graphics driver file. Both the interface and the printer graphics driver file have the .dll file extension, which means that these files are exterior data files that support an executable printing function. The printer driver software enables a computer program to communicate with the installed printer by translating the information coming from the computer into executable commands for the printer. There is sometimes a need to install various drivers on the print server to support different operating systems or hardware particularly if a user is sharing the printer with other users who may be running a different platform.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. lxcetime.dll. is used by Lexmark Printer Driver Module, If you shut down lxcetime.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
