The process livesrv.exe is a file associated with the software BitDefender Antivirus Software. The software may also be called as BitDefender Total Security, BitDefender Desktop Update Service, BitDefender Antivirus or The Shield Deluxe. The software is developed either by Softwin S.R.L., BitDefender SRL or PCSecurityShield. When the process livesrv.exe has been executed, the BitDefender software can provide the user with virus protection and firewall services. The software is an Internet security file which monitors the web browsing activities of the user. It checks if there are suspicious files that the user has downloaded from the Internet. Once the software finds that a certain file has been infected by a malicious software, it will notify the user and provides courses of action from which the user may choose from. BitDefender offers antivirus solutions with advanced and proactive security which the user experience from e-threats or online banking attacks. Aside from firewalls, it contains features for device anti-theft, parental controls, online storage and sync, social network protection and others.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. livesrv.exe. is used by BitDefender, If you shut down livesrv.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop livesrv.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is BitDefender, from your system.
