The linemgr.exe process is an executable component file of the CallXpress software, which is a unified telephony, voice communications and fax network management application for Windows servers and client computers. The CallXpress software was developed for office and enterprise networks that need streamlined digital voice and fax communications, telephony and messaging applications among other voice and data transaction processing protocols. The linemgr.exe process is specifically deployed as a major executable application resource of the CallXpress Line Manager module, which is an applet built into the CallXpress software. The linemgr.exe file is placed in the Windows server and client system upon the installation and configuration of the CallXpress program, which also means the linemgr.exe process is packaged into the installer distribution utilities of the CallXpress software.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. linemgr.exe. is used by CallXpress and CallXpress Line Manager Module, If you shut down linemgr.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop linemgr.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is CallXpress and CallXpress Line Manager Module, from your system.
