The ldmconf.exe file is an executable program process component of the Logitech Desktop Messenger software, which is a Windows program used by associated Logitech firmware distributions and driver utilities that are bundled with certain Logitech devices. The ldmconf.exe process aids the Logitech Desktop Messenger tool in implementing its embedded set of functionalities into the system, which includes automatic searching features as well as auto download and installation functionalities for available driver software updates and firmware upgrades of certain Logitech devices that are connected to the Windows-based system. The ldmconf.exe file is placed in the system upon the installation of the Logitech Desktop Messenger application, which is in turn integrated into the system during the installation process of associated Logitech device driver software distributions and firmware utilities. This means the ldmconf.exe process is implemented as one of the various components included in the installer distributions of the Logitech Desktop Messenger software and other Logitech firmware components and driver software resources.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. ldmconf.exe. is used by Logitech Desktop Messenger, If you shut down ldmconf.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop ldmconf.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Logitech Desktop Messenger, from your system.
