The lcfd.exe process file belongs to the Tivoli software that goes with the following names: (1) Tivoli Endpoint, (2) Reuters Messaging, (3) Sybase ASE, (4) Display Templates, (5) Reuters Messaging Troubleshooting, (6) Tivoli Management Agent, (7) IBM Tivoli Client, and (8) Reuters Display Templates. As part of Tivoli Framework Agent, lcfd.exe is previously known as Lightweight Client Framework. The process file functions as root or Administrator. The subprocesses which Tivoli has created may need specific access to files or operating system structures. Lcfd.exe may also automatically download more and new codes from mid-tiered components. These components are called gateways. As part of Tivoli Desktop Management System software, lcfd.exe is responsible for recording events on clients and workstations within the network of IBM. The Tivoli software is the service management system developed by IBM. It provides companies the visibility, control and automation in delivering services, managing rick and compliance, and increase business growth.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. lcfd.exe. is used by Tivoli, If you shut down lcfd.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop lcfd.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Tivoli, from your system.
