The ksrun.dll process is a modular DLL (Dynamic Link Library) file that is distributed alongside other DLL modules, certain SYS driver utilities, some executable component files, specific background process items and various components that are used and referenced by the firmware packages and driver software distributions of certain motherboards equipped with audio chipsets from Creative Technology and some soundcards manufactured by the same company. This means the ksrun.dll file is placed in the system upon the installation of these Creative Technology device driver software components and firmware packages. The ksrun.dll process is specifically deployed as a component of the KSRun Persistence module, which is an applet built into these associated Creative Technology firmware distributions and device driver software resources. Because the source code stored in the ksrun.dll module is encoded with program logic compilation specifications that are normally implemented into content stored in the DLL file format, the ksrun.dll process can accommodate simultaneous referencing requests from multiple applications.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. ksrun.dll. is used by Creative Technology KSRun Persistence Module, If you shut down ksrun.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop ksrun.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Creative Technology KSRun Persistence Module, from your system.
