The kontiki.exe process is an executable component file of the Kontiki Delivery Manager software, which is a built-in system module of widely used Microsoft Windows versions. The Kontiki Delivery Manager program is a P2P (Peer to Peer) application that was designed to assist certain built-in and third party Windows applications and services to implement secure content delivery functionalities into the Windows-based system. The kontiki.exe file is placed in the system upon the installation of these third party Windows programs, or upon the installation of Microsoft Windows itself and the activation of these associated built-in Windows applications. The kontiki.exe process is specifically deployed as the executable program dispatcher file of the Kontiki Delivery Manager software, which means the system executes the kontiki.exe file whenever it needs to integrate the P2P functionalities and content delivery security protocols of the Kontiki Delivery Manager program into the system.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. kontiki.exe. is used by Microsoft Windows and Kontiki Delivery Manager, If you shut down kontiki.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
