Many users have reported the keyboard.exe process as a malicious application that is associated with a known variant of the SPYBOT worm, which is a malware program with spyware-like functionalities that can infect Windows-based systtems. Some user reports claim that the keyboard.exe process is implemented with the functionality of automatically creating registry keys and entries that, when injected into the Windows System Registry, can configure the infected system to allow the keyboard.exe process to automatically initialize during system startup. The same user reports state that the keyboard.exe process carries out the creation and insertion of these keys and entries into the Windows System Registry upon the successful placement and activation of the keyboard.exe process in the system. The same user reports also claim that the keyboard.exe process, upon its successful initialization during system startup, is capable of operating without user consent as a background process, in order to perform its spyware-like functionalities.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. keyboard.exe. is used by SPYBOT Worm, If you shut down keyboard.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
