The isbew64.exe file is the executable process for InstallShield 64-bit Setup Engine, the executable program for the software InstallShield 11.50 by Macrovision Corporation. InstallShield is a program installer, a program launcher or driver that installs application files and software into a computer. The InstallShield software is the tool for the creation of installers or more commonly known as software packages or suites. InstallShield is mainly used for the installation of Microsoft Windows software for server and desktop platforms, and it is also used for managing software suites or packages on mobile and handheld devices. InstallShield generates a system .exe file that can be utilized on the destination device or computer so that it can install the modules from the source where its content was created. The user may be prompted to specify queries and set prerequistes or registry settings selectable to the user during the program installation time of the InstallShield application.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. isbew64.exe. is used by Install Shield, If you shut down isbew64.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop isbew64.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Install Shield, from your system.
