Called as Iron Driver as its service name, the process ironx86.sys, which is a driver (SYS) file type, is a part of the software product called Symantec Iron Driver, which is developed by Symantec Corporation. Like other modules or computer files, the ironx86.sys file, which is digitally signed from Symantec Corporation - Symantec Time Stamping Services Signer - G3, is installed onto the computer, where it is stored, particularly on a file folder labeled as C:\Program Files, and registered into the Windows registry with a run identifier and an execution command. Also, the ironx86.sys file is a Windows module, which implies that it is downloaded in one of the versions of Microsoft Windows operating systems,including later versions, such as Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000, Windows NT, and Windows ME.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. ironx86.sys. is used by Symantec Iron Driver, If you shut down ironx86.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
