What is  ipfw.exe

The ipfw.exe file is an executable process that has been reported by many users as a malicious application with Trojan-like functionalities, and these user reports claim that the ipfw.exe process is specifically associated as a variant of the Trojan.W32.Yabe family of Trojans. As a Trojan, some users state that the ipfw.exe process can create registry keys and entries upon its successful placement and activation in a Windows-based system. The ipfw.exe process is then said to inject these keys and entries into the Windows System Registry, in order for the ipfw.exe process to automatically initialize during system startup and operate as a background process in the infected system, without user consent, during system runtime. The ipfw.exe process has been reported to be capable of connecting with predesignated Web servers, which are said to be operated and managed by its authors, in order to download more malware items to the infected system as well as gather private data and Internet browsing information from the infected system and its default Web browser. This collected data is then said to be uploaded by the ipfw.exe process to those predesignated remote servers.
