Intel PROSet/Wireless Wi-Fi Framework is launched when you execute the file ifrmewrk.exe. The file is included in the driver for Intel wireless networking cards. This is not the main executable for the driver, but is only a feature installed by the driver. The file basically provides clients with options to configure the settings of their network profiles. Through the file, the user can see the status of their Internet connection. The file also detects nearby Wi-Fi network access, and includes this is in the list for available networks currently active. If you have the Windows Wireless Zero Configuration installed and enabled, you may disable the ifrmewrk.exe file; and use Windows’ wireless connectivity application instead. File size is generally about 1.84 MB. Standard folder location is C:\Program Files\Common Files\WirelessCommon\ifrmewrk.exe. There are other file versions available, usually depending on their image hashes as well as the Windows OS platform they are compatible with. For file version 13, 2, 0, 0; compatible Windows OS is Windows 7 Ultimate.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. ifrmewrk.exe. is used by Intel PROSet/Wireless Wi-Fi Framework, If you shut down ifrmewrk.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop ifrmewrk.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Intel PROSet/Wireless Wi-Fi Framework, from your system.

Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
