The hposol08.exe process is an executable file that serves as one of the program files and modules required by the HP Photo and Imaging applet, which is a small program that is bundled with the driver software components and firmware resources of certain HP devices. Also known as the HP OfficeJet Com Device Objects module, the hposol08.exe process works together with the HP Photo and Imaging applet in order to implement the set of features integrated into supported HP devices, as requested by the user. The hposol08.exe process is normally found in the same folder where the firmware and device driver software resources of the compatible HP devices were installed, but there are instances where the hposol08.exe process is stored in the same application folder that was created under the Program Files directory of the system partition when the HP Photo and Imaging applet was installed.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. hposol08.exe. is used by HP Photo and Imaging, If you shut down hposol08.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop hposol08.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is HP Photo and Imaging, from your system.
