The filehookdll32.dll, known as iolo system component, belongs to software iolo System Guard by iolo Technologies. System Guard is software that protects the user against unwanted changes, particularly those that may be caused by malware. Without the user's knowledge, malware like trojans that has infected the system may attempt to execute itself, include itself in the windows registry, or change the Web browser's home page. These unauthorized changes to the computer can be blocked by the application System Guard, which generates an Alert window when a program or function attempts to make a change. This alert prompts the user to block or allow the change by choosing any of the given options, which are allow once, allow always, block one and block always. The source of the attempted change can be viewed by choosing from the tray menu Show Details, which enables the user to read information about the program or source that is attempting to make the change. System Guard also features a Browser Guard Alert that shows the address of the website that is attempting to change the home or search page.
