The fspex.exe file is a process used by the application F-Secure Internet Security developed by F-Secure Corporation. This process functions as a downloader for the application. It detects and downloads available updates for the program. It enables the program to identify all malicious applications that can possibly infect the system. It connects to the Internet or LAN using available ports. It is not a system process on Windows. It is recommended to let fspex.exe process run upon startup. The registry key for this process is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Explorer/User Shell Folders. This process consumes about 1 MB of memory resources while running. It runs on the background. F-Secure Internet Security provides protection for your system from malicious applications and notorious Websites. It includes browsing protection that identifies malicious sites, blocks spam and phishing E-mails and offers parental control to avoid children from accessing undesirable sites.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. fspex.exe. is used by F-Secure Internet Security, If you shut down fspex.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop fspex.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is F-Secure Internet Security, from your system.
