F-Secure ORSP Service is the process name of fsorsp.exe, a type of an executable (EXE) file, and is a part of the software F-Secure Internet Shield, which is a security software product developed by F-Secure. F-Secure Internet Shield or simply Internet Shield is a protection program intended for Windows computer, that works to secure data and programs stored on the system against viruses, worms, and spyware. This kind of security product for Windows PC features HIPS, or advanced system monitoring technology called DeepGuard, which scans new and unknown malicious files, malware intrusions, and other threats that are suspected on the system. Since the software product is an essential tool for the computer, fsorsp.exe is advisable to remain stored, active and running in the background. It must not be terminated or stopped, so it does not disable its function, and the only time to remove it is when it starts to cause some problems that affect the performance, speed, or stability of the system.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. fsorsp.exe. is used by F-Secure Internet Shield, If you shut down fsorsp.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop fsorsp.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is F-Secure Internet Shield, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as F-Secure Internet Shield, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
