Most reports by users and anti-virus programs identify the fontexta.dll file as malware. A dynamic link library [DLL] file is a Windows application that has functions that can be used by other programs. It is easy to install and arrange. This DLL file is a BHO [browser helper object] that automatically runs when you load the Internet browser. Personal firewalls usually do not stop activities of BHOs because the firewall detects the BHO as the browser itself. This makes BHOs often used by adware and spyware. This is not a visible program. It appears as unknown file on Windows folder. It can monitor or change the behavior of Internet Explorer. The fontexta.dll file has been associated with malicious software. It is encrypted or packed by a software packing process. It can auto start applications upon system boot up or system start by adding a registry key [EXPLORER].

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. fontexta.dll. is used by Fontexta.dll, If you shut down fontexta.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop fontexta.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Fontexta.dll, from your system.
