What is emsmta.exe
Microsoft Exchange MTA is the service name of the file emsmta.exe, and a component of the program Microsoft Exchange MTA, or Exchange MTA, also referred to as Microsoft Exchange MTA Stacks, which is developed by Microsoft Corporation. Microsoft Exchange MTA, or Exchange MTA is basically the core component of Exchange Server 2003, which is used as a tool for all non-SMTP message transfer, and includes message transfer to external X.400 messaging systems, as well as Exchange servers connected through X.400 connectors. This program also has the functionality to control and manage remote procedure call-based (RPC based) communication with the 5.5 version of Exchange Server. The emsmta.exe file is obviously a Windows file as it is created by the same manufacturer of the Windows Operating Systems, but this is specifically compatible with one OS, which is Windows Server 2003, although works with other versions. Despite that, this file needs to continuously run in the background to enable all those vital functions.
