The file emntfsrv.exe belongs to software EpsonNet WebManager, which is designed to manage network devices. It allows network administrators to easily control network devices such as interface cards, wired network printers, and network adapters attached to the printer. It administers the Epson Ethernet networked devices through the internal Web page of the EpsonNet print server. This application is compatible with Windows XP 32-bit, Windows 2000. Windows Me, Windows 95 and 98, and Windows NT 4.0. To start the EpsonNet WebManager, the user should ensure that the TCP/IP is installed, and the IP address or host name is set for the computer. The user should register the host name in the host file in the windows directory. The application can be started from the server by clicking Start, then point to All Programs for Windows XP and Server 2003, or point to programs for Windows 2000 and NT 4.0 users, then click on EpsonNet WebManager. From the client, run the web browser and then type the IP address or host name of the server.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. emntfsrv.exe. is used by EpsonNet WebManager, If you shut down emntfsrv.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop emntfsrv.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is EpsonNet WebManager, from your system.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as EpsonNet WebManager, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
