The process emagic.386 is known as a driver file for eMagic software. Emagic was a music software and hardware company based in Germany that was purchased by Apple Computer in July 2002. The driver emagic.386 relates to the application Logic Pro for Digital Audio Workstation that was created by EMagic, which was based on the Atari Falcon computer. Digital Audio Workstation was discontinued when PC and Macintosh hardware became more cost effective than the Atari proprietary based systems. Logic Pro from Emagic is a hybrid 32/ 64 bit digital audio workstation and MIDI sequencer for Mac OS platform, and is part of Apple's Logic Srudio bundle of professional music applications. It provides software instruments, studio effects, synthesizers, and recording facilities for music synthesis and supports Apple Loops, which is professionally recorded instrument loops. Another application that uses Logic Pro's audio engine is Apple's GarageBand, which is bundled in iLife, a suite of software that comes included in any new Macintosh computer.
