Called as RawDisk Driver as its process name, the elrawdsk.sys file, which is a driver (SYS) file, is a component of the software product called ElRawDisk or RawDisk, which is created by EldoS Corporation. This application is designed to allow write access to raw disk sectors in Windows computer. As it is digitally signed by EldoS Corporation - Comodo Time Stamping Signer, the elrawdsk.sys file needs to remain running, and must not be terminated or stopped, unless it is causing problems or errors that affect the performance of the system. Also, elrawdsk.sys is compatible with most versions of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, which are popularly known as Windows operating systems, or Windows OS also, which include Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000, Windows NT, and Windows ME, and are produced by Microsoft Corporation.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. elrawdsk.sys. is used by ElRawDisk or RawDisk, If you shut down elrawdsk.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop elrawdsk.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is ElRawDisk or RawDisk, from your system.
