The file elagopro.sys, known as Gteko's GoProto Protocol Driver, is a Windows driver for software Gteko Diagnostics Network Module by Gteko. Gteko Corporation is a company that has been acquired by Microsoft Corporation in 2006. This company provides networking and support software solutions for the digital home. Gteko Diagnostics Network Module could relate to any of the products from Gteko, which includes GTAgent, GTWebCheck, GTSolve, and GTRemote. The GoProto Protocol driver provides an interface between a redirector and a network. The redirector formats a server message block (SMB) request, which is submitted to the protocol driver. The protocol driver transmits the SMB to the network and once the transmission is completed, it records the transfer as a session or as an unreliable connectionless diagram. In a session, the protocol driver transmits the entire message from its source to a destination should receive a confirmation message. If no confirmation is received, the protocol driver reports an error to the redirector.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. elagopro.sys. is used by GoProto Protocol Driver, If you shut down elagopro.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop elagopro.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is GoProto Protocol Driver, from your system.
